The first question everyone asks me is whether this magic cream is worth it or not. The answer is maybe. Depending on what type of skin you have, you may love this cream or be unimpressed. As a dry skin person I love this cream. I'm not being biased as I love the brand but, this cream is beautiful. You may be able to get the Charlotte's Magic Cream in a cheaper dupe but as far as I know this is the best moisturiser I have ever used. The magic cream has even won awards from Cosmopolitan and Elle magazine so you can understand the hype around it.

What it claims:

Charlotte's Magic Cream claims to have been tested on 103 women across a four week period. 100% said they agreed their dull skin had been transformed, their wrinkles appeared reduced and felt their skin was instantly moisturised. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the wrinkles claim as I don't have any yet (sorry.) The cream also contains ingredients such as vitamin C for dull skin, hyaluronic acid which we all know is for moisture, rosehip oil which is great for spots, shea butter for nourishment and softness, camellia oil for a dewy finish and aloe vera for smoothness. Although, many have argued that these are simple ingredients that can be found in cheaper alternatives which is why this cream is very controversial.

Pros:

  • The moisturiser has a thick consistency which is great for dry skin as it saturates all dry patches instantly in the first use.

  • A little goes a long way so you don't have to cry every time you use this moisturiser as I know it is super expensive.

  • After having applied the moisturiser, your skin feels sooooo soft and smooth to touch like a baby's bottom. You can definitely feel the quality of this product.

  • The moisturiser transforms tired, dull and shit skin to fresh looking skin by creating a dewy finish. It is perfect for achieving that Victoria Secret model makeup look.

  • I definitely found that my foundation looked better when paired with Charlotte's cream compared to my normal every day moisturiser. It gave my foundation that extra dewiness that I love.

  • The scent is not overpowering.

  • It contains SPF 15 but in order for the SPF to be effective you must apply it every two hours.

  • The hydration lasts all day which is amazing as in comparison to other moisturisers that I have used as they make my skin look dull towards the evening.

  • It has not made me break out so far (touch wood.)

  • After continuous use I started to notice improvements in my skin as it looked more clearer and healthy.

  • The packaging is luxurious and definitely looks pretty sitting on my desk. I love Charlotte Tilbury's packaging as it's always ‘oh so pretty’!

Cons:

  • This cream may be too thick for oily prone skin readers however, as an alternative, Charlotte does sell a light weight version!

  • It does contain unnecessary perfume (sigh).

  • It is quite expensive for a moisturiser as a 50ml tub is £75.

I would suggest anyone to order a sample before committing themselves as it is quite expensive and it may not agree with everyone's skin. I wouldn't purchase this if you have acne prone skin as it can clog pores. Having said this, for me it is definitely perfect for my skin. I can't describe the finish it creates but it just makes my skin look flawless and overall healthy. Maybe it is overpriced for what it is?
