How I Shave My Face Using Amazon’s Dermaplaning Razors

If you’re sceptical about shaving your face with a face razor, allow me to help you come up with a decision from my own experience. This trend was used by our beloved Marilyn Monroe in order to achieve a beautiful and clean face. When this trend had returned, I was open to the idea but scared of the outcome. Shaving the peach fuzz off your face creates a smooth base for foundation application and cream contours. I’ve always had an issue with my foundation looking patchy prior to shaving my face as the foundation gets attached to peach fuzz on the face. So when this trend came about, I quickly purchased some cheap facial razors off Amazon. They were only £2.06 for a pack of three... bargain!
How to shave your face
Not everyone would agree with the way I shave my face but this works for me. I firstly start off with thoroughly washing my face with a mild facial scrub in order to remove dead skin cells. I then pat dry my face with a clean towel to remove excess water. Do not rub your face with the towel as this can cause unnecessary irritation. Wash your razor thoroughly and keep it wet. I usually shave with a damp face in order to get rid of any extra dead skin cells that may be left behind after exfoliation. It is so important to shave downwards at a 45-degree angle or less. If you find the shaving irritating, apply a shaving gel. You must and I mean must, I cannot stress this enough, use a very light hand when shaving. If you go in heavy handed you will risk having unwanted cuts on your face and we wouldn’t want to ruin such a pretty face (yes I am talking to you). When shaving, pull the skin taut so the blade glides smoothly across the skin. Use short, light strokes in swift movements going downwards. Avoid using the razor on areas such as side burns or upper lip as the hair here is too thick here in comparison to the rest of your face therefore, it would look obvious if your were to shave here. Once you have finished shaving, wash your face with cold water and pat dry. Restore moisture with a good moisturiser and a SPF. Remember to always thoroughly clean the razors or bin them to avoid bacteria growth.
And that’s it! It’s such an affordable process and can be done at the comfort of your own home. However, if you hold the razor at a weird angle you are at risk of cutting yourself so you must be careful. Moreover, two questions usually ponder on people’s mind about facial shaving. Firstly does the hair grow back quicker? This depends on the person’s hair growth. Obviously it will grow back quicker than if you were to pull the hair from the root. But everyone’s hair grows at different speeds so it is just a matter of trial and error to see which hair removal treatment lasts the longest. The second question I usually get is, does the hair grow back thicker? Shaving the hair does not change the density of your hair. The density of your hair is down to genetics. The only reason why you would think it grows back thicker is due to the way the hair has been cut. This is why you must shave downwards in order to achieve a smooth cut. If you shave upwards as well as downwards, you will create a blunt end to the hair strand which then creates the illusion that your hair is thicker. For me, I have noticed that I have to keep up with the shaving of my face every two weeks. I do prefer to wax my face but some people may get irritated by waxing or may not like the pain.
Does not shaving your face make you any less beautiful? Absolutely not. You can do whatever you like to your face. It’s just useful getting rid of peach fuzz for an even makeup application but, again it is down to personal preference.
