For about three years I've been doing my nails at home now and I can honestly say it has been life changing. I get super happy and appreciate when people comment on my nails and some people even realise that my nails are always in an immaculate condition. My nails are my pride and joy. For me, it portrays how tidy and well-groomed someone is. When I first brought the SensatioNail kit I was sceptical at first as I didn't believe how easily achievable it was to get gel nails at home.
What is SensatioNail?
SensatioNail is an at home nail kit which includes the following:
LED lamp
LED polish (there are different kits with different colours. I had purchased the French manicure kit)
Primer
Lint free wipes
Filer
Gel cleanser
Top and Base coat
White manicure stickers
Manicure stick
Why SensatioNail?
I always liked my nails to be fresh but got annoyed at how many times I would have to apply nail polish. I even splurged out on expensive brands but found that the polish went clogged after a while or took ages to dry and as a student, the idea of having my nails frequently done from the salon proved far too costly. That's when I decided to go on a search to achieve affordable salon nails at home. This brand was the most easily accessible lamp I could grab my hands on. It is available to purchase at Boots in the UK and Amazon. You could also order the kit from the original website. Additionally, it includes everything needed to achieve gel nails.
How to use it
Buff your nails with the filer in order to achieve a smooth finish. File to desired shape. use the cuticle stick to push back the nails. I use a cuticle pusher I purchased from Sally's. I use a cuticle oil I had also purchased from there which allows the process of pushing the cuticle back easier. I then use a cuticle cutter from Sally's to cut the dead skin off. PLEASE be careful when doing this. When I first started doing my own nails I used to accidentally cut too much of my cuticle which made it bleed. I still do it when I'm in a rush.
Pour the gel cleanser on a lint free wipe and wipe all your nails. This ensures that all oil residue has been removed from the nail. Lint free wipes are specifically used as it does not leave cotton pieces on your nail so please don't use normal cotton wool as you will end up with furry nails (ew).
Apply the gel primer. I won't lie, I have not used this since I brought the kit as I spilt it on the carpet and never purchased another one however my nails seem to last long and have a nice finish without it.
Apply the base coat and cure under the LED lamp for thirty seconds. I usually do this for the whole minute for reassurance.
Apply the coloured gel polish and cure for one minute. Continue to do more coats until you achieve the desired look.
Apply the top coat and cure for thirty seconds again, I do this for one minute.
Use a lint free wipe and wipe your nails which will get rid of any tacky residue left and tadaah! Mission complete.
Pros:
Too many to name but here are the main ones.
Two words... LIFE CHANGING!
Easy to do at the comfort of your own sofa.
Affordable. You do not have to squint your eyes at your bank account and see £15 come out every time you get them done fresh.
You can choose when you want to do it.
You can purchase all the colours you like and create a mini salon at home.
You do not have to share equipment such as nail filers, cutters, buffers, cuticle pushers etc.
Longer lasting than normal nail polish.
You can use the lamp in conjunction with any branded LED polishes.
The lamp is small which allows you to carry it around. I store mine in a pink cosmetic bag.
Cons:
The lamp is a bit small for my fat fingers but not of an inconvenience.
Can't use with UV polishes but that is okay because they're more damaging and take longer to dry.
