I know how technical applying eye shadow can be as loads of people dream of having a beautiful eyeshadow look but struggle to apply it. Today I'm using my favourite Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow quad to show my lovely readers how easy it is to achieve a pretty and polished eyeshadow look without having to be a MUA. I will be using the eyeshadow quad in the shade formally known as Walk Of Shame which name has now been changed to Walk Of No Shame. This palette is great for beginners as Charlotte has created the perfect palette containing four beautiful colours that seamlessly blend together ultimately, helping you easily achieve an eyeshadow look as if it were done by a professional. This palette can be easily used by many people even if they have never picked up an eyeshadow brush in their life. Charlotte has created many quads with different colours however, I love Walk Of Shame in particular as I believe the pretty pink colours would suit any skin tone. On the back of the palette Charlotte has included the order in which each eyeshadow should be placed and where. I hope today's blog will aid you on how to use this palette and how you can achieve an effortless and stunning eyeshadow look.

Swatches of each shadow in order.

1. Prep your eyes with your moisturiser, SPF, foundation or concealer (which ever one you would normally use as a base for eyeshadow). The first shade in the palette is the prime shade. This must be applied across the whole of the lid, reaching its way to the brow bone. Don't be scared to apply it under the brow as it also works as a brow highlighter.

2. The second shade in the palette is the enhance shade which has to be applied across the lid but no further than the crease.

3. The third shade is the smoke shade. This is a deeper pink in order to enhance the crease in the eyelid and add depth. This shade must be placed directly into the crease and smoked out at the outer v of the eyelid. Remember to blend all the shadows out by moving the brush multiple times back and fourth.

4. I then go in with a clean fluffy brush and blend out the edges (the smoke shade) of the eyeshadow making it look more seamless. Don't blend too upwards as this could make the shadow look bad and the last thing I would want you to look like is a clown and that's not what we do here.

5. This is my favourite part! The last shade is the pop shade. The pop shade in Charlotte's palettes are what make them super unique. It is hard to describe the pop shade but all I can say is they are absolutely stunning! The pop shade is cross between a glitter and a shimmer but has a velvet texture. The shadow hits the light perfectly and creates a gorgeous effect. This is what pulls the whole look together and makes it look professional. For the best results apply this shade using your finger. Rub your finger in the pop shade and sweep it across only focusing on the middle of your lid. I also use a brush to place some of the pop shadow in the inner corners of my eyes to add more sparkle and I feel like this enhances the eyes by making them appear more brighter and complete.

6. And finally, to complete the whole look I lined my waterline with a pencil, added glam eyelashes and put mascara on the bottom lashes (this is all optional). I would say this look is easy and classic.

Pros:

  • This helpful (I hope) guide can be applied to any of Charlotte Tilbury's quad range in order to easily achieve a beautiful eyeshadow look.

  • The colours are gorgeous. The Walk Of No Shame palette would suit any skin tone and shade.

  • The quality of the shadows are amazing, they're super opaque and are soft to touch.

  • The shadows blend out easily which makes it great for beginners so they don't struggle with trying to blend as this could make or break a look.

  • You only need two brushes to complete this looks, one for applying the shadow and one for blending which is convenient for beginners who don't have a large brush collection.

  • The pop shade is so unique and I have never found a duplicate. It hits the light in all the right places.

Cons:

  • The only con I have for this palette is the fact that is only contains four colours which you can only create one look with. With the price being £40 it is a lot of money for only four colours but, you are really paying for the quality rather than the quantity.

I hope you found this blog useful and I really hope Charlotte Tilbury’s quads would help boost your confidence in applying eyeshadow. Don’t ever be afraid to experiment with products and colours. Just simply remember to blend (not too high) as this is the key to a great eyeshadow look! For those who already know how to apply eyeshadow, if you’re fortunate enough I highly recommend purchasing these quads as the colours and the quality are perfection. I promise you won’t regret it!
