Why MAC's Strobe Cream Makes The Perfect Dewy Base

I'm a sucker for a dewy base. I never really rock the matte look as I prefer how radiant make-up makes me look young, natural and fresh but of course this is down to personal preference. Not to mention that my skin is dry AF so a dewy make-up look is good for me. If you're naturally oily I can understand how some make-up lovers prefer the matte look however, the MAC Strobe Cream is quite versatile so it can be used to achieve a dewy base or as a highlight on your upper cheekbones if you prefer the matte look but with a bit of shimmer. I own the MAC Strobe Cream in the shade Goldlite as I usually wear make-up with warm undertones. Peachlite would also suit warm skin. For those who have a cool undertone or like to wear make-up with cool undertones, the Silverlite or Pinklite shades are probably a better option yet, this is down to personal preference.
What the product claims
The Strobe Cream claims to moisturise and make dull skin appear brighter with the use of the ingredients green tea and vitamins. The iridescent particles can be seen when the light hits the cream on the skin and creates a beautiful shimmer. The product also claims to be non-comedogenic. This means that the strobe cream does not cause breakouts as the ingredients have been formulated to not block pores which is why not only is this strobe cream great for dry skin users, but for my oily prone skin readers. Also, MAC state how it also smoothes the skin however I cannot comment on this because I don't really have rough skin (so sorry.)
How I use the Strobe Cream (for dewy skin lovers)
After having applied my moisturiser and SPF, I then apply the Strobe Cream to the whole of my face before foundation application. I also would like to note that when I apply my normal moisturiser, I use less than what I would normally use because the Strobe Cream also acts as a moisturiser. If you use too much it would probably all melt off your face like an ice cream in hot weather. I do not replace my normal moisturiser for the Strobe Cream as the Strobe Cream does not hold the same moisturising properties as my normal moisturiser. If you have oily skin you could mix the Strobe Cream with your moisturiser rather than applying it separately. I only apply it separately because adding this extra step to my skin care regime adds more hydration to my dry skin.
How to use the Strobe Cream for matte make-up looks
Once you have applied your whole face of make-up, you can dot a bit of the product using your finger on the upper cheekbones and anywhere else you want to highlight. You then blend this in with your middle finger by tapping the product into your skin. To set this, use a highlighting powder of the same colour and lightly dust this over the parts where you have placed the Strobe Cream to set it in place. You can also set this in place using a translucent powder.

Pros
The iridescent particles are so tiny you can hardly see them but creates a beautiful shine to the face. You can really tell the quality of this product as the shimmer particles are very fine.
Even though the Strobe Cream is at a fairly average price of £26.00, the tube will last you a very long time. I would say over half a year if it were to be used nearly all the time. MAC also take student discount- bonus!
It definitely makes your skin look hydrated for those days when your skin looks dry and dull. You can wear this alone or with a foundation. It's great for those who are popping to ASDA but don't want to wear make-up but want to look alive.
There are different colours for different colour undertones.
Every time I have worn this product it has not caused me to break out (touch wood.)
It has fragrance but the cream smells of a normal moisturiser? If that even makes sense? Nothing over powering.
You can literally apply it anywhere on your body to add a gorgeous and luminous highlight.
It has the perfect amount of shimmer to sheer ratio so you can't over apply this product.
You can add the Strobe Cream before a highlighting powder to intensify the opacity of your highlighting powder.
Cons
If you decide to wear this alone you may tell towards the end of the day your skin starts to look dull again as it's not long lasting. This can always be prevented with a dewy setting spray.
